Non-Profit Charitable Discounts

It has been my practice for sometime now to offer registered charities a substantial discount off the retail price charged to the general public for my artwork. On other occasions, depending on circumstances, I have been in a position to donate the artwork entirely. Of course, as a small business owner, there are obvious limitations.

11-16-07 –  The Most Reverend David A. Zubik, Bishop of the Pittsburgh Diocese and I share a moment at the
dedication of the Catholic Charities Free Health Care Center.  I was honored to partner with the Catholic
Charities by donating artwork to the facility.

A tax exempt charitable organization is defined in section 501c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) as one which is a:

public charity or private foundation, which is established for purposes that are religious, educational, charitable, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering of national or international amateur sports, or prevention of cruelty to animals and children. There are also IRC Section 501c (4) through 501(c) (27) organizations that are considered tax-exempt, but not charitable. Examples include trade associations, social clubs and certain advocacy organizations involved in substantial political lobbying activity.

Historically, discounts and donations to non-profit charitable organizations have evolved, in many cases, from a chance encounter. More recently, it has become a more deliberate act where I initiated the contact directly. However, for the most part, this has been unstructured. In 2007, I intend to expand those opportunities by devoting additional time, energy and resources to locate entities which may benefit from my artwork. (Particularly the Christian artwork found on the “Inspirational” page of my website)

In the near future, I plan to establish a relationship with several other Non-Profit Organizations. For example, churches, hospitals, hospice centers, nursing homes and Ronald McDonald House to name a few.

If you represent a Non-Profit organization seeking artwork at substantially reduced prices including possible donated art, please e-mail me from this website or call 724-518-9086.
