#4 Free to Roam - Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
This photograph was created to help the viewer appreciate the unique nature of Yellowstone where wildlife truly are free to roam. The ethereal quality of the world’s largest thermal basins furnishes the backdrop for this Yellowstone landscape. The steam produced by these thermals has frozen to the trees during this late autumn morning. Meanwhile, the solitary bull elk roams freely about, stopping to graze or to break the stillness of the morning with a bugle that echoes through the valley. I chose this image because I prefer landscapes which include the wildlife rather than animal portraits which exclude the landscape.
